Chapter 1: The Wandering People

It happened one day when the autumn wind was beginning to blow. That one word shocked the entire staff.
"We can't use the same venue as last time!"
From that day on, the staff became "wanderers wandering in search of a safe haven."

Some people search maps.
Some people search online.
Some people enjoyed the local specialties during their on-site survey.

...After a comprehensive review, we decided on Greenpia Miki as the venue. My heart warmed when I imagined this venue being filled with RS.
Of course, that's not all; various attempts were made this time as well.

Improving online support. Planning a wine label contest. Improved performances. And the deployment of the special forces "SIESTA" in combat (?)...

We did our best and waited for the will of heaven. And so the day of the event arrived.

Chapter 2: Full House!

May 13, 2001. Clear skies.
It seems that "Oasis on Mother's Day" has become a well-established tradition at this OASIS meeting. Perhaps it was a stroke of luck that we were blessed with good weather again this time. It was a beautiful sunny day.
At one point it seemed as though the change in venue might result in a decrease in the number of participants, but the staff breathed a sigh of relief as they watched the large venue gradually fill up with RSs.

10:00 AM. This year's OASIS meeting has begun.

The venue on the day. Approximately 300 vehicles came from all over the country. This time, the ground was paved, which was well received.

I can say this now.
In fact, the number of participants was much higher than expected, and the parking space was almost full... We owe this packed house to everyone who participated. Thank you very much! In 2002, we've made the venue even larger, so please come with peace of mind!!

The opening ceremony. The two hosts appeared to the tune of Pink Lady's "UFO." SIESTA's dance added color to the venue, creating a mysterious and glamorous atmosphere.
The staff will never forget the tearful behind-the-scenes practice that took place day after day and night for this dance...

The "Club Roadster Ranking Check" was held again this year. This year, the club that came in last had to declare their disbandment on the spot.

…かくして、いくつかのクラブに解散宣言を読み上げて戴く事となった。皆様、こちらの悪ふざけに乗って戴きありがとうございました!

The winning entry in our first ever "Wine Label Contest" was chosen by online public voting and was created by Silverhead of "OVER-40's." Thank you to everyone who submitted their entries!

A commemorative photo taken at the closing ceremony. (Photo taken from the RCOJ newsletter) The atmosphere was more than just "spring weather"; more than 400 people gathered under the scorching sun. Thanks to everyone who participated!

In addition to this,
Can you figure it out without being fooled? "Who are the owner couple?"
Continuing from the previous year, "Conductor Game Hi&Low"
The difficulty of the "Ticket Quiz" has increased even more.
Thank you to everyone at the shop! "Grand Raffle."
...and other events were held with great success.

Chapter 3: Hope for the Future

The venue was a huge success. It was both fun and hectic. I was excited to be in the venue with about 300 cars all gathered together, but in the back of my mind I wondered, "How long can this RS event continue?"

It's been over 10 years since the first naturally aspirated car debuted. This car, like most cars on the road, will eventually fade away. Even though I was here, I felt a bit cynical.

Meanwhile, I chatted with a family who had come with them. The father explained that they had come in a wagon this time because they were attending as a family. At his feet was his little daughter, operating a red NA pedal car.

"Dad has the same one too!"

The little Roadster driver looked straight ahead and spoke proudly. His parents looked at him and smiled gently.
Looking at this kid, I saw the image of a future Roadster driver.

...The Roadster will likely continue to be seen on street corners for another 10 to 20 years or so.
There's still plenty of room for improvement. Thinking this, I felt like I could get even more excited.

Let's do our best at the next OASIS!
As I saw off all the participants, I thought to myself.
